I am currently working on the upcoming Disney animated feature film "Wreck-It Ralph" (release: Nov 2012)
I have worked for the academy award winning studios Animal Logic, Sony Pictures Imageworks, and Walt Disney Studios on a number of feature films including: Disney's Tangled, Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, Sony's Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Paramount's Beowulf, and Warner Bros Academy award winning animated film Happy Feet".
My primary interest is to enhance the digital effects experience by utilizing real-life Physics and Lighting models. Examples include the behavior of light in materials, developing artificial intelligence models for character animation, and dynamics of structures.
I have worked with Academy award winning artists, producers, and directors, and have been regularly been called upon, featured, and quoted in media publications including Fox News, Daily News Egypt, and Australian Fairfax publications.
My interests include animation and film making, aviation, software development, art, photography, science, and music/drums.
I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Newcastle, Australia majoring in Imaging and Numerical Analysis. I also hold an Australian and US Private Pilot Licence/Certificate. I was the 2010 recipient of the University of Newcastle "Newton-John" award. Awarded for my innovative contributions to the industry; I am the youngest recipient in it's 35 year history.
